Because some of you think they are the same thing.
They are not.
Not even a little.



🧼 Cleaning

Cleaning is:
• Removing dirt
• Sanitizing surfaces
• Wiping up spills
• Vacuuming up the evidence
• Making things look fresh, reset, and guest-ready
Cleaning handles:
– Dust
– Hair
– Soap scum
– Grease splatter
– Coffee rings
– Mystery crumbs
Cleaning is maintenance.
It keeps things from getting worse.



🧯 Restoration

Restoration is what happens when Life gets a little too real. 
Restoration deals with:
• Wax buildup from Mop & Glo crimes
• Etched marble from a hot pan being on top of the counter for a little too long

• Water damage

• Permanent staining
• Warped wood
• Finish worn off by “I scrubbed it real hard”
Restoration requires:
– Specialized equipment
– Specialty chemicals
– Training
– Sometimes a flooring company
– Sometimes a contractor
– Sometimes prayer



🦝 Simon’s Hard Truth

If the finish is gone, I cannot wipe it back on.
If wax has been layered for five years, I cannot “just mop it.”
If the floor is sticky because of product buildup, that is not dirt.
That is history.
And history takes money to undo.



🏔 Real Example From the Towel Throne

Shiny floors.
Everyone loves the glow.
That glow usually comes from a wax layer.
That wax layer traps:
• Dirt
• Hair
• Airborne dust
• Every floating Montana particle
Then it turns yellow.
Then it gets sticky.
Then someone calls us.
At that point?
That’s restoration. Not cleaning.
